RM upgrade

We are now getting ready to upgrade our Property Management system so let me explain something about the world of computer systems;

1. No system is perfect, as a matter of fact, all software have tons of bugs.
2. No individual is perfect, as a matter of fact, I am sure you remember your last mistake.


3. No timeline is accurate, see 1 & 2 - but it is not all bad since we can estimate now.


4. No third software development team is perfect, where are they when you need them.


5. No end-user understands your IT goal.

I listed these 5 to say that if you are upgrading any company software for your business. Always, and I mean always prepare for the worse yet hope for the best, do not sweat the little things and smile no matter what.

Give your users the sense of confidence but keep it real, right expectation will come a long way.

I've gone through several of these now and I will say they are all different no matter how similar you think they are, "SMILE" and don't be too hard on yourself for mistakes.
